Bret grew up in Oakland, CA then went to college in Daytona Beach, FL and earned degrees in Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering. This is also where he met Dr. Schaller. Their first dog was Sydney an Australian Sheppard. Later came Matrix, another rescue, Labrador. Then Worf the Catahoula Leopard Dog and Cirrus the Beagle Aussie mix. They both agreed they were finally ready for children. By this time they were married and living in Wisconsin.

Designing motorcycles for Buell/Harley-Davidson was the first real job for Bret. When the decision to move south was made, it was Pentair that first attracted them to Sanford. After designing pool filters and valves then kitchen cabinet accessories Bret finally decided it was time to stop designing products for large companies and start helping people turn their ‘dream ideas’ into reality. He started with Willow Creek Animal Hospital. After modeling the building in 3 dimensional CAD space, Dr. Schaller and Bret went through many revisions before coming up with the ideal layout of the building as you see it now. Then after the computer work was done, Bret hired local people and lead the demolition and reconstruction that is now Willow Creek Animal Hospital. Volunteer coaching for the Sanford Area Soccer League has been something that started with our oldest boys 7 years ago. Now it’s starting all over again with Stratton and Reichen.
